I’m participating in my first swap! I’m going to send a package of fiber and treats (worth $25-40 pre-shipping costs) to someone, and someone else will send me a package! Sounds like fun to me.

I’m also trying to say the Divine Office and go to daily Mass more this Lent. I’m using this website: Divine Office. It’s a really great thing to do, and if you miss one, you can always do another, since there are seven different sections a day.

Am I the only one who wonders how parish priests manage to fit all seven parts of the Liturgy of the Hours/Divine Office into their schedules? I mean, they have to say Mass, hear confessions, manage catechism/faith formation classes (and sometimes teach classes, too), do paperwork, have meetings, prepare sermons, sometimes oversee the parish school, and besides all that they have to make time for private prayer, eating, and sleeping.

I’m so glad I’m going on vacation. I’m going to try to get to the library sometime before we leave and pick up some really good movies to watch while we’re there. I’m also going to cast on some new socks to work on while I watch these movies. I use decentfilms.com to find good ones (movies, not socks).

We’re supposed to read part of ‘The Brothers Karamazov’ for my Great Books class on Tuesday, which means that I’m taking a break from ‘War and Peace’, because there’s no way I can keep track of them both. I gave up on reading ‘Les Miserables’ and ‘War and Peace’ simultaneously almost a week ago. I’ll pick it up again after I’m done with all this Russian stuff.

I might make this on Saturday night as a special treat to bring on vacation with us. Except I’ll use coconut oil instead of butter–it only makes sense to use it in coconut bread.
